Keeping Memories alive
On Saturday 5th April the West End came to the Iveagh Club. We had a wonderfull evening introduced by our host, John Banks. He and his very talented friends entertained us all with many great songs. We thank them all and do hope to welcome them back later this year, in the Autumn.
Many Congratulations to our past Iveagh Club Chairman
Joyce Lambert Giller
on being awarded the MBE by the King in the New Years Honours list for her services to Essex and Westcliff.
It’s a very well deserved award for someone who’s done so much
to improve the city of Southend, rescuing old buildings such as the Royal Hotel, being a trustee of many charities and so much more.
Judith Canham
Acting Chairman and the Committee of the Iveagh Conservative Club.
We congratulate Gill Lee another Club member who was awarded the BEM for services to Parliament, having run the parliamentary office of Sir David Amess and Anna Firth.
The Iveagh Club held a very successful Christmas Dinner on Wednesday 11th December. Many thanks to our Chef Mark, and his little helper DJ Mike.
On Friday we had a thank you/ retirement party for our esteemed retiring Chairman
Joyce Lambert. It was a wonderful occasion with Anna Firth our President and many friends in attendance. A wonderful time was had by all! Thank you so much Joyce! We all hope to see you again very soon!
Today, Tuesday 15th October is the third anniversary of the tragic murder of
Sir David Amess.
Members of the Association, Club and others paid tribute by laying flowers at his statue located on Chalkwell Esplanade.
